Soft flowing yoga in Rishikesh and the Kathmandu Valley
Flow keeps the body moving. Yin slows it down. Meditation takes the movement out altogether. These are three speeds of one soft flowing yoga, held together by the breath rather than by effort.
Where
In the Kathmandu Valley, the historical heart of Newar Buddhism. Its monasteries have kept the Prajnaparamita manuscripts for eight centuries — the texts the school takes its name from, still read aloud half an hour from Kathmandu.
What we run
Retreats and teacher training.
The school teaches qigong and Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi as well — the same soft internal practice in a Chinese idiom, and a good place to start if the yoga mat is not where you want to begin.
Where the name comes from
Paramita is the crossing to the far shore, and the far shore is perfection. We arrive as we are — and that is not our fate. It is possible to go beyond every limit, and that is worth studying for.
