Shibashi – is a simple set of 18 movements performed with natural breath. It is a dynamic meditation and gentle exercise at the same time.
What is Shibashi?
Qigong is an ancient Chinese practice that has been shown to have many positive benefits. The most popular form of Qigong nowadays is Shibashi, a form of Qigong that can be practiced by anyone. Shibashi Qigong is believed to promote self-healing and good health by improving the flow of energy through the body.
The workout is as simple as moving one’s arms and legs and in simple yet fluid movements. The exercise is relatively easy and anyone can practice it without any previous knowledge or experience with Qigong, Tai Chi or any physical movement of any kind. Despite it being simple and accessible, Sibashi is still engaging, enjoyable and very beneficial for health and total wellbeing.
The difference between Tai chi and Qigong
As the name suggests, Qigong is a type of exercise that is supposed to use your qi or life energy (prana). Tai chi is a martial art with a set of slow, graceful, and fluid movements. Both involve stretching, but they are very different in their applications.
Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi is a hybrid of tai chi and qi gong. It uses the energy of tai chi to enhance Qigong. It is similar to tai chi in the way that it can be practiced.
How Does Shibashi Work?
All Qigong movements are designed to connect the body, breath and mind. Shibashi is a flowing Qigong exercise that consists of a series of movements performed in a slow and relaxed manner. These movements help to open channels of energy that are believed to circulate throughout the body.
